The Minister Blyzniuk has launched a unique flare unit in Lugansk land fill.


In town of Alexandrovsk the Head of Ministry for regional development, building and housing and communal services of Ukraine Anatoly Blyzniuk has opened, with a formal ceremony, a unique flare unit for the burning of waste gas collected from a solid domestic waste landfill. The event was reported by the 'OstroV' correspondent.

Minister Anatoly Blyzniuk and Lugansk Governor Vladimir Prystiuk arrived to the solid domestic waste landfill in Alexandrovsk.

On September 30, 2011, A.Blyzniuk took part in a formal ceremony for putting into operation of a waste gas burning unit installed in Lugansk solid domestic waste landfill located in town of Alexandrovsk.

'This project is important because it is a pilot one. Burning landfill hectares were transformed into a profitable project, which future implementation will make possible to extract heat energy' – said the Minister.

A.Blyzniuk noted that a gas launch – is only the first stage of the project. It is necessary to install a special unit, in addition, allowing to accumulate heat energy.

The Minister also visited the part of landfill that was already reclamated.

'You see, how the landfill has changed: it took tens of hectares of land earlier and now it is only several hectares' – he noted.




However, according to A.Blyzniuk 'the problem of a waste and landfills has to be solved integrally'.

'There is a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers about a separate waste collection. But are people ready to behave accordingly now? One needs to have separate containers. And, in the first place, people have to realize that a waste should be sorted. This is a complete system. 30% of all waste that people throw away should be recycled but it is not that happens now' – said the Minister.
